The Ooni of Ife and co-chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, has called on Nigerians to purchase home-grown products in order to ensure food security and improve the country’s economy.
The Ooni made this appeal at his palace in Ile-Ife during a courtesy visit by the management of Titan Multibusiness Investment Limited, producers of Titan Rice, to apprise the royal father of the upcoming commencement of the Titan Farms rice factory and corporate headquarters in Ibadan.
The monarch commended the management of Titan Farms and other organizations across the country for overcoming the challenges in the Nigerian market while acknowledging their patriotism and originality in rendering qualitative services to Nigerians.
“What I want to encourage our people to do is to patronize this brand and I assure Nigerians that they will be proud of it. To grow Nigeria’s economy, the citizens must make a conscious effort to consume locally made food,” Ooni Ogunwusi said.
Gbenga Eyiolawi, the company’s founder and chief trader, remarked that his organization, with the help of its food processing specialists, is ready to uphold its efficient service delivery mechanism through diligent and extensive research and development.
“Baba, let me use this opportunity to explain that Titan is an agro-commodity processing and trading outfit, buying farm produce directly from Nigerian farms and process them with our partner-mills and processing facilities using their High-Tech equipment in the Northern part of the country.
“These processed goods are packaged in our brand and sold directly to distributors across South West Nigeria. We are confident to say that Titan Rice is the most affordable ‘Grade A’ Nigerian rice,” Eyiolawi noted.
